Last summer a friend of mine called me up and asked if a filmmaker friend of his from could crash at my place while they visited Toronto (if you watch the Cocoons video you will see her and I strolling into Afrofest 2011). I met Najma Nuriddin that weekend and had the opportunity to hear about the films she was working on. I visited DC in the fall and crashed on her couch. Najma studied at Howard University under Haile Gerima (who I also had the opportunity to meet while in DC). Glad to see that Najma has finished one of her film projects and is screening it in DC (May 18), this is the trailer for her film A Lovers Call.
