For some reason the documentary of the making of Bad Girls by M.I.A. makes me like the song better (is that wrong?) The video is obviously crazy, but seeing the process makes makes me understand some things I didn’t understand before.
I don’t know much about Om’Mas Keith but I like this video and what he’s doing musically doing interesting. I know more about his production partner in Sa Ra, Shafiq Husayn who did a crazy joint (with a crazy video) with Bilal not too long ago (posted below).
The Roots are some of the hardest working musicians in hip hop and certainly one of the best live hip hop shows you will ever see in your life. Legendary.

My friend Naomi Williams first told me about this young Muslim singer from Malaysia named Yuna sometime last year. I had seen a full page add in Fader Magazine a little while after and didn’t make the connection. It came together when I heard this cover of ‘Come As You Are’ by Nirvana.
