Jay Smooth_ Something Racist In Your Teeth

I had a brief conversation with my friend Huda Hassan of The Africana in my living room yesterday. We were speaking about race and the issue that come with communicating about it with people of different races, specifically white people, specifically at her institution of learning, University of Toronto. The question many of us have is why do some folks get so defensive when talking about race and racism? I mentioned a blog I wrote a few years back called The Culture of Entitlement. I don’t know if I would articulate the arguments in my peace quite the same way now, three years later, but I do think these realities as well as how to deal with and communicate about them are important to openly and honestly discuss with everybody on all sides of the issue. Anyway, she posted this video on my wall this evening and I thought I would share it. I already know Jay Smooth is brilliant so it’s not surprising that he can break this communication issue down in such a matter of fact way.
